Luminating for the First Time!
This week was a very exciting one for our Questers with one of our students luminating for the first time!
Cleo has written the following reflection about her experience…
I felt so ecstatic when I luminated for the first time. I was a bit nervous at first but I just felt so proud of myself that I forgot all about it. I went to all my friends and they were all admiring my shardflower, I felt like I was on top of the world, I can’t wait to luminate again!
A button saying LUMINATE came up underneath my lumins. I got Mr B to come over because I was not sure what to do. He stopped the class and said I was about to luminate so EVERYONE came over to my computer and we did a count down….5…..4….3…..2….1 and I pressed it! It came up with a message to go to the Otak Cave. I followed the instructions and when I got there I had to do a special QA vote about “Social Responsibility”. I made my vote and then teleported up to the platform above the lake in the Otak Cave. I pulled down the lever and a massive shardflower, full of colour, with all the petals luminated and shining came out of the water. It was amazing and beautiful. I got down from the ledge and refreshed my page and then…the moment I had waited for, my shardflower appeared behind my head with the social responsibility petal lit up.
You could tell some people were a bit envious but mostly everyone was really excited for me, especially my friends. They were all saying, ”Wow! Great job! Awesome!” and just really nice things like that. They were all really excited and happy for me and most of them could not wait to get their shardflower luminated too.
I luminated in Social Responsibility, a Social Commitment about helping the community. Things like poverty and slavery are just some of the things that we are trying to get rid of. The colour that represents Social Responsibility is purple, I think that this is the perfect colour because it represents good judgment, wisdom and dignity. This describes Social Responsibility perfectly.

Congratulations Cleo! We are all VERY PROUD of you. Your Lumination reflection certainly captured your experience beautifully, from the events that occurred to the emotions involved. Your Lumination is a well deserved reward. Keep up the great work!
